貧乏でも浪費家／子供の頃からサイマー大王でした
「ウチは貧乏なんだ」
子供の頃、貧乏だという言葉を親からいつも言い聞かされていた。
その言葉の意は、「無駄遣いをするな。無駄遣いをすると貧乏になる」という金銭教育か、それとも本当に「貧乏」だったのか。
子供ながらに、「お金さえあれば」「お金があれば何でもできる」なんてことを考えるようになった債務大王。
父の姉、そう、伯母には子供がいなかった。
その伯母は、旦那さんが働いていたのだが、自分でも商売を営んでいた。
比較的近くに住んでたし、母がこっちにいたので、家にくることが多かった。
両親は、自分たちの家庭に踏み込まれるので、伯母を疎ましく思っていた。
そんな両親の気持ちは今となって理解することができるのだが、その当時は伯母が我が家に来るのが嬉しくて。
その答えは簡単。伯母が来たら必ずお小遣いといってお金が貰えたから。
３０年ほど前で、１回くる度に1,000円とか。
子供がいない伯母にとって、自分が喜ぶ顔を見たくてのことだったんだろう。
インベーダーが流行した頃の事だ。
学校では、ゲームセンターに行くことが禁じられた。
でも、そんなの関係ねえ～
ギャラクシアンやパックマンと、新たなゲームが次々と。
大切なお金の価値を知らない債務大王は、お金があればあるだけ使ってしまう。
伯母ちゃんがまたお小遣いくれるだろうからいいや～って。
友人と一緒にゲームセンターへ。自分のお金が無くなれば平気で「お金貸して」と。お小遣いもらったら返すからって。
その頃からもう浪費家でサイマー大王なんですよ。。。俺。
月々のお小遣いは、確かあの頃で1,000円だったと思う。
親からお小遣いをもらって半月もしないうちに、「お金貸して」だなんて平気で口にしていた。
そこには、まだもらっていないお金をアテにしてた自分がいた。伯母ちゃんからもらえるお小遣いを。
正しい金銭感覚を身につけようとしなかった自分の子供時代。
なぜ、それができなかったのか？
今更なのかもしれないが、正しい金銭感覚、お金との正しい付き合い方を学ぶ毎日。
そんな子供の頃を振り返ると、思い出すことが多いお金のことと伯母のこと。
お金の面もさることながら、お金よりも愛情のほうが確かに注がれていた。
その伯母が亡くなってから１０年以上経つが、今でも伯母の期待にそえるような人間になれていないのだが。
決して一口で感謝の言葉なんて表すこともできやしない。
「ありがとう」の思いがどこまで届くのかはわからないけど、感謝の心を大切に生きています。

However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
